Changing a planned keyword

Swap the keyword for a planned day without touching the rest of the plan.

Sometimes the plan schedules a keyword you would rather hold for later, or you would like a particular keyword written sooner. You may change any planned day directly on the calendar: remove the keyword that is planned there and drag the one you want in its place. The change affects only that day, and the article for the new keyword is written and published automatically on the same date.

Swapping the keyword

  1. Open the Calendar from the menu on the left.
  2. Open the menu on the planned card and choose Remove from calendar. The removed keyword returns to your pool, so it remains available for future planning.
  3. Click Keywords at the top of the calendar to open the keyword sidebar. You may search it or filter it to All, Unwritten, or Written keywords.
  4. Drag the replacement keyword onto the day.

Of course, when you simply want a keyword written sooner and it does not need to replace anything, there is nothing to remove: drag the keyword onto any open day, or click the calendar icon next to it in the sidebar to place it on the first open day.

Days that may be changed

A planned day may be changed while its date is tomorrow or later. Once the scheduled date arrives, the article is in production and the day can no longer be changed. Days whose article has already been generated cannot be swapped either; at that point you are better served by editing the article itself.

Available keywords

The sidebar lists your project's keywords that are available for planning, which excludes archived keywords and keywords already scheduled on the plan. If the keyword you have in mind is missing from the list, you should add it to your project first, after which it becomes available for planning.

A keyword that already has an article, or that your site already ranks for, carries a Written badge, so you may see at a glance when a new article would overlap content you already have. A keyword marked Published already has a live article and cannot be scheduled again.

Of course, you may also ask the copilot to plan a keyword for you, and it will perform the same change on your behalf.
