WordPress.com

Connect a WordPress.com site so RankYak publishes articles for you, live or as drafts.

The WordPress.com integration lets RankYak publish articles directly to a site hosted on WordPress.com. Once connected, every new article is posted automatically, either live or as a draft for your review. If you run a self-hosted WordPress site instead, you should use the WordPress integration; this page covers sites hosted at wordpress.com only.

Connecting WordPress.com

The connection is made through your WordPress.com account, so there are no passwords or API keys to copy.

  1. Go to Settings, then Integrations, and click Connect next to WordPress.com.
  2. In the popup, click Authenticate with WordPress.com.
  3. Log in to your WordPress.com account if prompted.
  4. Select the site you would like to connect and approve the connection.

Once you approve, RankYak completes the setup automatically, and new articles are published to the site from then on.

Publishing as drafts

If you would like to review each article before it goes live, you may tell RankYak to create drafts instead of publishing directly.

  1. Open your project's Settings, then Integrations.
  2. Click Edit settings next to the WordPress.com connection.
  3. Enable Publish articles as draft.

New articles now appear in WordPress.com as drafts, so you may read, edit, or schedule them on your own terms before publishing.

Author, categories, and tags

The same settings shape how published posts appear on your site.

  • Author selects the WordPress.com user the articles are attributed to. By default, posts are attributed to the account that connected the integration.
  • Default categories and default tags are applied to every article RankYak publishes, so your posts land in the right place in your site's structure without manual sorting.

Disconnecting

To stop publishing to WordPress.com, go to Settings, then Integrations, and click Disconnect next to the connection. Publishing stops immediately; articles already on your site are not affected.
