Money pages

Money pages are the pages you would like your articles to funnel readers toward: a pricing page, a contact page, a signup form, or the key category pages of a webshop. When RankYak writes an article, it keeps your money pages in mind and links to them with a contextual call to action wherever one genuinely fits the content. This page explains how money pages are used and how to manage them.

How articles use money pages

Every article is written with your money pages as context. When the topic touches on what one of them offers, the writer inserts a call to action at a natural moment in the text and links the reader through. The links are contextual rather than mechanical, so not every article links to every money page; a page is only referenced where it answers the reader's next step.

Beyond that closing call to action, RankYak also links your money pages from the body of your articles. Typically an article carries one such link, and RankYak spreads them across your money pages rather than sending every article to the same one, so the pages that matter most to your business each gather links over time. A page that has already gathered plenty is left alone in favor of one that has not.

Adding a money page

1. Go to Money pages in the left-hand menu.
2. Click Add page.
3. Enter the full URL of the page.
4. Describe what a visitor may do on that page.
5. Click Add page.

If you are adding several pages at once, enable Add more pages at the bottom of the dialog and it stays open after each save. New money pages are used automatically in every article generated after they are added.

Writing a useful description

The description tells the writer what the page offers and when linking to it makes sense, so a specific description produces more natural calls to action. "Get a free demo by booking a call with us" gives the writer something concrete to work with, while "our contact page" does not.

The description is also how RankYak decides which article a money page belongs in, so it is worth writing well. A description naming what the page actually offers earns the page links from the articles where a reader would want it.

Checking how well your money pages are linked

The Money pages page lists every money page with the number of your own pages that link to it. The list is ordered by address, with your homepage first if you named it, so a page stays where you last saw it. The count includes links inside the body of your content and excludes the ones in your header, footer, navigation, and sidebar, because a link your template places on every page says nothing about which page you consider important.

The list is the same count RankYak uses when it decides where to send an article's links, so a page sitting at zero is a page that upcoming articles will link first. A page marked Enough links has gathered as many as another one would usefully add, and RankYak leaves it alone in favor of a page that has not.

Typically a money page you added recently sits at zero for a while, because only articles written after you added it can link to it.

Two notes on what the page may tell you. If a money page is marked Not found on your site, RankYak's crawl never reached that address; check the URL is correct and that the page is not blocked from crawling, because writing more articles will not fix it. And if RankYak has not read your site's links yet, the page says so rather than reporting zero: counting them requires a crawl, which needs Google Search Console connected so that RankYak can scan your site.

Editing and removing money pages

Each money page in the list has a menu with Edit and Delete actions. Editing lets you correct the URL or sharpen the description at any time. Deleting a money page stops future articles from linking to it; links already placed in existing articles remain untouched.
