Image generation

How RankYak generates header images, in-article images, and infographics in your style and brand colors.

RankYak may illustrate your articles with generated images: a header image at the top, supporting images throughout the body, and a summary infographic near the end. Every image is created specifically for its article, drawn in a style you choose, and colored to your brand, so your articles carry a consistent visual identity. This page explains how to enable image generation and what each setting controls.

Enabling image generation

Image generation is configured per project.

  1. Go to Settings, then Articles.
  2. In the Images section, click Enable.

Once enabled, the style and color settings appear, and each image type may be toggled individually. Articles written from that point on include images as part of article generation. To stop generating them, return to the same section and click Disable.

Image types

Three types of images may be generated, and each one has its own toggle, so you may run any combination.

Type What it is
Header images A single image at the top of the article, used as the header, thumbnail, or featured image when the article is published.
Article images Supporting visuals placed throughout the article body where they help explain the text.
Infographics A portrait-format image near the end of the article that visually summarizes its key points.

Header and article images are generated in a wide landscape format that works as a header or featured image on any platform. Infographics are taller than they are wide, which makes them easy for readers to share, and a shared infographic often carries a link back to your article.

Image styles

All images for a project share a single style, so every article looks like it belongs to the same site. You may choose from nine styles: Photography, Cartoon, Illustration, Line-art, Clay, Flat, Watercolor, Poster, and Low-poly. Each style shows a preview in the settings, and you may zoom in on any of them before deciding.

Brand colors

Two colors tie the generated images to your brand.

  • Background color sets the base tone of each image, typically matched to your website's background.
  • Accent color highlights elements within the visuals, and is typically your primary brand color.

Legacy header images

The article settings page also includes a Header image (legacy) section, an older generator that renders the article title over a background of your choosing: a solid color, or up to ten uploaded images from which one is picked at random for each article. The overlay, font, text color, and text width are all configurable, and a live preview shows the result as you adjust them.

While the legacy generator is enabled, the Header images toggle in the Images section is unavailable. If you would like generated header images instead, disable the legacy section first.
